Casino Rules Canada
About
Casino Rules Canada is written by the Casino Rules Canada Editorial Team. The site explains how online gambling regulation works in Canada, province by province, for players who want to know what applies where they live.
Why province by province
Under the Criminal Code, each provincial government conducts and manages gaming under its own law. The result is a set of different systems: registered private operators in Ontario and Alberta, government sites in Quebec, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and Atlantic Lottery in the Atlantic region. Advice written for one province is often repeated as if it applied to all of Canada. We keep them apart.
What we publish
- Guides to the rules in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and British Columbia, and a reference table for every province and territory.
- Explanations of official registers and what licences from outside Canada mean in Ontario and Alberta.
- Guides to minimum ages, self-exclusion programs and complaint routes.
Every fact comes from an official source, such as a regulator, a government page or the statute itself, and carries the date it was checked.
What we do not do
We do not give legal advice, predict how a law would be applied to anyone, or rate casinos. We do not name individual offshore brands in our regulatory guides. We never explain how to get around age checks, location checks or self-exclusion.
How the site is funded
Casino Rules Canada is funded by affiliate commission, which some casino operators pay when a reader reaches them through a partner link. Our affiliate disclosure explains what that means for this site, where the guides carry no such links. How we choose sources is in our methodology, and how we write is in our editorial policy.
If an official source has changed, please email contact@casinorulescanada.com. Our contact page explains what to include.
